Elkins Fish & Game Club

The Elkins Fish and Game Club is located in the beautiful lakes region of New Hampshire. The club was established in 1894 and has been in continuous operation ever since. "The objective of this club shall be: the preservation of fish and game; the conservation of our forests and streams in the interests of fish and game; and to disseminate information relating thereto."

Activities, programs, and events

Our club reaches out to the public with many programs during the course of the year. We are deeply dedicated to promoting the interests of fishing, hunting, archery and target shooting, and the preservation of the great outdoors.

Our archery course, with 18 3-D target stations, is used for traditional and modern archery leagues, and is occasionally used by an outside club that introduces youngsters to the fun and proper techniques of archery.

Once a year we conduct an NSSF "First Shots" event to introduce people, both young and old, to the shooting sports. We own and operate a small range, which we use for this event, and for casual shooting and sighting in by our members.

From spring through the fall, we host the Second Amendment Sisters once a month. This organization allows the ladies to learn and enjoy the shooting sports in a "girls only" environment.

Every fall we host our Game Dinner. Hunters donate meats, such as elk, deer, boar, moose, and caribou, as well as various game fish. These are turning into unique and tasty dishes that we serve, buffet style. We know this is a very popular event as it gets sold out very quickly.

Since the early '90s, we have sent dozens of area children to the Barry Conservation Camp, with a focus on fishing, hunting, and shooting. The camp is for youth who love the outdoors, prefer participating in a small camp, and enjoy hands-on learning about the outdoors, conservation, and the environment.

Each year, we send an area woman to the Becoming an Outdoors Woman program. BOW is a workshop focused on learning outdoor skills, usually associated with hunting and fishing, but useful for many outdoor pursuits.

Barry Conservation Camp is supported by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, as is BOW, which is also supported by the NH Wildlife Federation. These organizations offer educational opportunities in line with our mission.
